Will Sandhya try to woo Suraj as per Bhabo's instructions?

Shashi Sumeet Mittal's Diya Aur Baati Hum is gearing up for an exciting track in the upcoming episodes of the show. Suraj (Anas Rashid) and Sandhya (Deepika Singh) are giving their best in order to fulfill Sandhya's dream of becoming an IPS officer.
Sandhya is attending night college keeping Bhabo in the dark. On the other hand, Bhabo (Neelu Vaghela) wants Suraj and Sandhya's love to strengthen furthermore.

In the forthcoming tracks of the show, the viewers will get to see Bhabo insisting Suraj and Sandhya to go to Mount Abu or some other destination for their honeymoon. Bhabo will be seen teaching Snadhya the art of impressing Suraj and she will also help her in getting a make-over for her. Sandhya will be seen in a different look with a lovely plait and a rose added to look more attractive.

According to our source, we have got to know that in order to get rid of this situation, they will decide to go to Ajmer as Sandhya cannot miss her night school.

Tellybuzz spoke to Deepika who said, "Sandhya is very shy and uncomfortable in this new look. She has never done all this before and she doesn't even know how to do all these things. She is a very simple girl. As Deepika, I am quite happy to don this new look. The viewers are going to see me in a totally different look. I wonder whether they will like it or not."

So, how will Suraj and Sandhya come out of this situation? Will they be able to keep this going. It seems something interesting is awaited in the future track of Diya Aur Baati Hum.

Himesh and Atif at loggerheads

Himesh and Atif at loggerheads

Sur Kshetra took Himesh Reshammiya and Atif Aslam's rivalry into the Grand Finale to epic heights...

Superstars Himesh Reshammiyaand Atif Aslam who had been in loggerheads throughout the season of COLORS' singing reality show Sur Kshetra took their rivalry into the Grand Finale to epic heights. Their battles created the atmosphere of a live Indo-Pak cricket match.
Himesh kept on reinforcing his belief that Diljaan was the ideal contender to win the show, according to him, "Agar Sur ki baat ki jaye toh Diljaan ka koi muqabla nahi".  Adding further he said, "I know that I have been labelled aggressive in the show but the intent for my aggression was only for the betterment of the participants. I believe anything done for a good cause is justified."
When asked if his aggression put a lot of pressure on the participants Himesh replied, "At such a large stage there is bound to be pressure, but I believe that there is a lot more pressure on the jury than on the contestants as now it is upto the jury to decide who is the most deserving winner. I wish the jury as well as the contestants all the best"
Atif on the other hand strongly objected to this and has his own favourite in Nabeel saying he was more versatile.  Atif said, "It makes me very happy when I hear that I am as aggressive as Himesh is, I take it as a compliment. After being a part of the show I now realize the reason behind Himesh's aggression; I understand that it is his sincerity and the effort that he takes for the show which makes him aggressive. Although I have had a lot of fights in the show I still believe I am the laadla on the sets."
It seems that the singers are as emotional about their motherlands as they are attached to their passion of music. Well all we can say is all is fair in love and war and in Sur Kshetra there is both, love for music and war for the coveted trophy.

2012 Wrap Up: Off Beat Movies

2012 Wrap Up: Off Beat Movies

BollyCurry has compiled a list of movies which pretty much sum up just how off-beat Bollywood movies have been in 2012.

Cars flying, physics defying action and some witty one-liners by the lead hunk, this pretty much defines the trend of masala movies which have been ruling Bollywood for the past years. At a time when this formula has been declared blockbuster and the makers are raking in themoolah, taking risks and going the extra mile to make quality cinema is really a commendable job. In 2012, it was a job well done. BollyCurry has compiled a list of movies which pretty much sum up just how off-beat Bollywood movies have been in 2012.
Based on the true story of an Indian athlete of the same name, Paan Singh Tomar had everything which went against the present successful norms ruling Bollywood. Yet, based solely on the quality of the script, the brilliant performances and the finesse with which the technical aspects of the movie were handled, not only did it succeed in making the critics applaud the movie, it even held its head high in the business category. Made with a very modest budget, Paan Singh Tomar was declared a Superhit at the Box Office.

Vidya Balan had already made everyone acknowledge her as an actor who knows her tricks in The Dirty Picture. But it was Kahaani which titled her as "The Fourth Khan" of Bollywood. A Bollywood movie with a female lead having the thriller genre tag, the movie reeked of risk. Yet, the originality of the script, the cinematography and specially the performances by the actors made the critics give a raving positive response to the movie and the audience to get those cash registers flowing. The breathtaking view of the city of Kolkata and a dramatically twisted ending of the movie are two of the major reasons why Kahaani will be remembered as an unforgettable, off beat Indian movie.

There is only one ultimate hero in Bollywood who decides the ultimate fate of any film - good word of mouth. And this hero showed its might whenVicky Donor, a small budget movie marking the debut of Ayushman Khurana and tv actress Yami Gautam, was declared a Superhit at the Box Office. Based on the completely undiscovered and somewhat taboo topic of sperm donation, the movie made the critics praise it to high skies and the audiences love it. The witty humor of the script and the stupendous performances by all the actors involved, make Vicky Donor a truly paisa-vasool movie, or in it's own language, bada hi paisa-vasool sperm hai iss movie ka!

Anurag Kashyap's bloody saga spanning over 60 years, Gangs of Wasseypur, is probably the first movie in Bollywood which had been made with a planned sequel. The genre of crime is not entirely new to Indian cinema but Gangs of Wasseypur and Gangs of Wasseypur II are truly benchmarks in many ways. The use of real lingo, the catchy music and the larger than life portrayal of characters makes the series that of truly breathtaking scenarios and actions. Gangs of Wasseypur, both in terms of acting and direction, remain a pair of highly critically acclaimed movies.

Based on a Gujarati play, Oh My God! takes the issue of Man v/s God to the big screen. This topic is extremely sensitive, but the way it has been dealt with in the film is truly applaud-worthy. With a smooth narrative and a maturely-written script, the manner in which the whole moral of the story is showcased makes Oh My God! a true quality entertainer. Even the casting of the film is brilliant as the protagonist Kanji Bhai, played by Paresh Rawal, and the group of antagonists led by Mithun Chakraborthy make it an unforgettable journey. This is one movie which not only provided good entertainment but also gave the audience something to ponder over. It won't be wrong to say that Oh My God! is an unconventional gem of 2012.

Made under the acclaimed banner of Vidhu Chopra Productions, Ferrari Ki Sawari is a heart warming story of a father-son relation and how a father does all he can to fulfill his son's dream. Though many movies have been made on the subject of family but what makes this one different is its very simple story line and a huge assemblage of brilliant characters ranging from an honest cricket coach to a greedy politician. This sweet ride has been praised by both critics and the audience alike and has givenSharman Joshi his first solo hit.

After being absent for 14 years, Sridevi is back to the silver screen in a lead role with English Vinglish. And what a comeback! Playing the role of a housewife Shashi who enrolls herself in an English learning course to get the acceptance of her family, Sridevi is being praised by everyone who has seen the movie. The concept is very simple but the way debutante director Gauri Shinde has treated the movie and the unforgettable performances by the Indian and foreign leads make English Vinglish deserve all the praises and accolades which it has gotten.

They are not disabled, they are differently-abled. Barfi! tells the story of a deaf-mute person, Murphy (who always pronounces his name as "Barfi!"), played by Ranbir Kapoor, and his journey and take on life. Priyanka Chopraplays an autistic girl and the movie marks the debut of the Southern Superstar, Illeana D'Cruz. Barfi! is truly magic on screen. The cinematography of the movie has been highly praised along with the perfect portrayal of the lead characters - Barfi, Jhilmil and Shruti. The movie has captured not only the physical beauty of the world, with the shots of deep forests, calm water and bustling city of Kolkata but it also explores the intangible beauty of the biggest emotions which rule our lives - love and happiness. Not only is Barfi! a critical success but such is the pull of this movie, that it is also a part of the coveted 100 crore club. Definitely, the most successful unconventional movie of 2012.

Neha Dhupia

Neha Dhupia
And here, we have The Little Mermaid. Wait, that's not Ariel, it's just Neha Dhupia! Much as we hate picking on this underrated member of the film fraternity, we know Neha is capable of doing much better than this on the red carpet. The deep burgundy hue suits Neha quite well, but that's about the only plus we can identify in thie ensemble. The half menswear, half supermodel look is one that we started seeing in the mid-2000s, and every year a few brave souls in Hollywood and Bollywood attempt it with little success. It doesn't suit Neha too well either, coupling with that severe updo she's pulled her hair into and creating a matronly appearance. The worst part of the dress, as referenced earlier, is the fishtail cut of the skirt. It begins too far down the skirt, actually resembling a pair of sparkly and scaly fins unlike the typical versions that flare out around the knee.

'ABCD' promotional tour to start from Bangalore

The promotional multi-city tour for the movie "ABCD - Any Body Can Dance", which was supposed to start from New Delhi, will now take off from Bangalore for the sake of injured choreographer-turned-actor Salman Yusuff Khan.

Any Body Can DanceThe promotional multi-city tour for the movie "ABCD - Any Body Can Dance", which was supposed to start from New Delhi, will now take off from Bangalore for the sake of injured choreographer-turned-actor Salman Yusuf Khan.
"We will be going to Bangalore where Salman will be joining us for the promotions of 'ABCD'. The team is wishing him to get well soon and he is getting better. We want him to join us at the earliest as we start our city visits tours," director Remo Dsouza told IANS.
Salman, who is making his acting debut, hurt himself badly while performing a stunt at the recent BIG Star Entertainment Awards in Mumbai.
He went to his hometown Bangalore for treatment, and he has been advised rest. His family members are taking good care of him.
The team of "ABCD" will perform folk dances in eight cities across the country, starting from the first week of January.
"ABCD", a dance-based film, releasing in February 2013, also features other young performers, as well as veterans like Prabhu Deva and Ganesh Acharya.

Rajeev Khandelwal

In the Hindi film industry, mostly ruled by the Khans and Kapoors, actor Rajeev Khandelwal is happy that he has been able to make space for himself, without any backing.

rajeev khandelwal
In the Hindi film industry, mostly ruled by the Khans and Kapoors, actor Rajeev Khandelwal is happy that he has been able to make space for himself, without any backing.
He says it is a myth that the film industry is not open to accepting people from outside.
"These are all myths. These are rules made by insecure people... unwritten rules which have led to a perception. I don't think you need to have any kind of backing except your self confidence. Once you believe in yourself, you don't need anything," Rajeev told IANS.
"I don't wish that I had some sort of backing because the fun and the excitement you get (without it) is unparalleled. If things were offered to me on a platter I won't be smiling looking back at my career. There will be ups and downs, but that's what life is about. People should envy you because you charted your own territory," he added.
A successful TV actor thanks to shows like "Kahiin Toh Hoga" and "Left Right Left", Rajeev turned to films with 2008 film "Aamir", and received critical acclaim for his intense performance.
He went on to do films like "Shaitan" and "Soundtrack", and will now be seen in "Table No. 21" with Tena Desae and veteran actor Paresh Rawal.
The film is a thriller, a genre he has already tried. But he admits he doesn't choose his projects based on its genre.
"I just go by my instincts. When I read a script, I see that it should be something which I haven't seen or heard before. This is how I select," he said.
"This film is a thriller, which unveils certain things as the film progresses. But that is not the reason why I picked it up. I don't look at films thinking that these are the kind of films which will work, so I should do them. I go solely by the script," he said.
With more movies joining the Rs.100 crore or even the Rs.200 crore club, Rajeev, who has been part of small or medium budget films, says he is at peace with whatever projects come his way.
"I am satisfied with what I do. If everyone gets into the race, then films like 'Aamir', 'Soundtrack' and 'Shaitan' will not be made. And there are a lot of people who want to watch these films. I don't look at films like business models and I don't want to enter this race," he said.
But the actor feels that since people invest a lot of money in films, they must do well.
"Films must make money as this is an industry where people invest money. But I don't want to be a part of business models where you make a film in a certain manner and release it in a certain manner, just to make money... where we don't look at content and just the collection. I can't overlook the content ever," he said.
